WELCOME to MADISON |
|
|
|
| This is Madison. Not what you expected huh? You see the gray building to the left? That is the Madison building. We built it 7 years ago. It is 2 levels and 4800 sq. ft. situated at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. It suits us just fine and being in the country is a HUGE bonus. The shop is on 1.5 acres. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful drive to get here and you couldn't dream of a better place to work. The horses are Dixie and Cherokee. | |

| We took this picture on Aug. 13th 2008. The bear was walking around the shop. He was about a 2 year old black bear. I shot this from about 40 feet away. This picture was taken as he was starting to turn around and walk toward me. This is something you can only get away with during the middle of the summer when bears primarily eat bugs and berries. About the only animal that hasn't come to the shop is a Mountain Lion, at least that we know of. A heard of about 20 - 30 Elk hang around in the fall and we have a fox that likes to play hide and seek from time to time. | |

| Ron working on an amplifier. Ron does most of the amplifiers from start to finish. He also does most all the finish work on all the cabinets. Most likely you will see his signature inside of your amplifier. Ron has worked here for almost 5 years and is like family. We don't have bosses at Madison. Everyone knows what to do and how to do it. If we did though, outside of Andy, Ron would be the head cheese. | |

| This is Andy building an amplifier in his little work area. Andy does all the design work and modifications. | |

| Ron in the spray room. This is where we do the bed liner spray for PA speakers. We use "Spray Max" bed liner. The thing he is holding is a huge gun attached to a 15cfm compressor (that's a big one). The gun holds the 2 part material and mixes as it is sprayed. This stuff dries in less than 2 minutes hard enough to beat on with a hammer. | |

| Derek prepping the raw grill material for plastic coating. Raw grill comes covered in oil so it doesn't rust. We use Acitone to remove the oil and then we coat the grill with a plastic liquid that dries real hard in about 2 hours. | |

| During the summer Madison hangs with us in the shop. On this day she set up a little store where she sold cup cakes, gum, mountain dew, cookies, fruit roll ups and water. She forces us to buy stuff from her so here we are spending all our hard earned cash. | |

| This is a D1 212 guitar cabinet in the works just before speakers and grill. As you might be able to see, we use black carpet for the face of the cabinet instead of Tolex. This keeps the grill from rattling and seals the woofers real nice. | |

| Ron wiring a 410 cab. To his right is the main stereo where loud metal is played all day long. We have had people work here that are not into metal but honestly it always ends up being a problem. They can't handle it and need to put in their crap radio music and we just end up blasting over the top with a little Arch Enemy or something. If you don't like metal, you probably don't want to hang in the shop. From time to time we get weird though. Ron likes his Spanish jazz, Derek goes on Nirvana kicks which kills all of us, Andy breaks into his Tom Waits collection, Red drives us all crazy with Naked City or some other wacky shit like that and Dana likes to break out 80's hair band rock. Its all about music here and if your not open minded.... forget about it. | |

| Derek routing out speaker holes for cabinets. Andy cuts the cabs. Derek primarily does holes (I didn't mean it like that)..... and he puts the cabs together and does the covering. Ron does most all the finish work. | |
